The Porterbrook Care Home is a purpose-built, luxury care facility located in the heart of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. With 44 en-suite bedrooms, our modern home offers around-the-clock Residential, Dementia and Respite care for older people. Not only do we provide an exceptional care service, but our residential home in Sheffield also presents an array of all-inclusive facilities for residents to use whenever they wish which are included in our weekly fees. These include private outdoor space, a hair salon & treatment room, cinema room and library to name a few.
Life at The Porterbrook Care Home
Our dedicated Activities Coordinators are thrilled to provide an extensive activities programme available every day designed to suit a range of interests. There is always some fun to be had at The Porterbrook, and if residents would rather sit out, that’s completely fine too.
Activities include creating sculptures, creating decorations for the home for special days, pamper days and entertainment such as talent shows and performing musicians. Our team ensures that the activities and workshops that take place in our Sheffield residential care home cater to the interests of our residents which enhances quality of life, and we will happily take new suggestions on board.

Residential Care
Residential care is suitable for people who need a little extra help with their personal chores on a day-to-day basis. Residents who reside at our care home can experience excellent meals and social activities in a welcoming environment.
We work closely with residents and loved ones to discuss the care needs of an individual, and find out their likes, dislikes and abilities in order to create an accurate residential care plan. As needs change over time, we will reassess residents’ method of care to meet their ever-changing needs and advise on whether a more advanced type of care is necessary such as nursing care.
Dementia Care
When it comes to providing specialist dementia care, we make sure that each resident is comfortable and safe and has everything they could possibly need at our beautiful home. Our goal is to help everyone achieve independence as much as possible, and our staff is strongly committed to providing compassionate care that’s person centred. We have an extensive amount of dementia care knowledge and experience working with people who have lived with the condition.
We ensure that daily care and support is completely customised to the needs of each resident living with dementia, as well as the wishes of their friends and family members. We also offer dementia-friendly activities so that every person at our care home, no matter what their circumstances are, can join in on the fun.
Respite Care
Whether you’re caring for a loved one or need to recover from an illness or injury, we are here to look after you. You can fully unwind at The Porterbrook, knowing that you will be in the capable hands of our professional team during your short stay.
Respite care can also be used as a trial stay, giving you the opportunity to decide if The Porterbrook is the right fit for you. As everyone has different reasons for needing respite care, we will make sure that each person gets the high quality care they require, taking into account their interests, preferences and goals.
