Alongside exceptional care within beautiful surroundings, The Porterbook presents a variety of all-inclusive facilities for residents to use whenever they wish to during their stay. Our care home in Yorkshire provides a range of engaging activities within our weekly activities programme which is created by our Activities Team. Residents will never be short of things to do and they have the freedom to do whatever suits them, so if they would prefer to do something else, they are more then welcome to do so.
Activities that residents have enjoyed in the past include quiz nights, board games, baking pamper days and entertainment from live musicians as well as trips to local attractions. Our team is committed to ensuring that the activities and workshops being offered at The Porterbrook meet the interests of our residents, and our team is always willing to incorporate new ideas into the programme.

We offer high-quality dementia care at our residence, ensuring every resident living with dementia has everything they could ever need to lead a full and happy life. Our aim is to guide our residents while helping them to remain self-sufficient where possible. Our staff has had the necessary dementia care training and are experienced in providing the best person-centred care.
We ensure that the daily care we provide is tailored to the needs of each resident living with dementia, whilst taking into account the wishes of their family members. The Porterbrook is delighted to provide activities that are dementia friendly so that residents living with the condition can be a part of the fun, supported by a member of the team.
Respite Care
Whether you’re currently providing full-time care for a loved one or looking for a place to recover following an illness or injury, this care may be the best option for you. You or your loved one can relax knowing they will be looked after by our caring team for a short while.
This care type can also be used to trial our home for a few weeks, giving you the opportunity to decide if our care home is the right fit. Like with our other types of care, each person receiving short-term care has differing needs, therefore a customised care plan will always be created and followed by the team.
