A Love-Filled Valentine’s Day

Valentines Day

Valentine's Day was a special day at The Porterbrook Care Home. As Valentine's Day is about showing your love and appreciation for those you care about, the staff at The Porterbrook made sure to demonstrate this with little acts of kindness. Every resident was given a Valentine's themed box of chocolate to enjoy as well as other treats throughout the day.

Some of our residents also helped to decorate the home with heart-themed displays in the main rooms of the home. The tables in the dining room were beautifully laid out with themed place mats and table decorations ready for every meal time.

Lunch was chosen from a special menu courtesy of our fantastic chef and kitchen team. We even had the pleasure of hosting a romantic meal for our married couples in our private dining room. We felt it was important for both these couples and the other residents in our home to continue with such traditions and no matter how big or small the occasion, we believe celebrations like Valentine's Day help uplift our residents and give them things to look forward to.

We thought it was only appropriate to spend the evening cosying up in our cinema room to watch a romantic comedy, so some of our ladies helped to prepare the popcorn cartons as the perfect cinema snack.

We look forward to decorating our home again and celebrating the next special occasion. If you would like to learn more about the activities we offer to residents, or our care services at The Porterbrook, we welcome you to contact our helpful team today.
