Glad to Care Celebrations

Two members of the team with fruit skewers for glad to care celebrations at The Porterbrook Care Home

Last week at The Porerbrook Care Home in Sheffield, we celebrated Glad to Care Awareness Week which recognises those that work in the health and care industry and shows appreciation for their commitment and contribution to the lives of those that they care for as well as their family and friends.

We always appreciate our care staff but last week we showed them just how much they are recognised and valued for their hard work with a week of celebrations. It is important to us that our staff feel happy and supported as this in turn provides residents with a positive environment in which they are cared for by a friendly and happy team.

Over the course of the week, we had lots of fun and treats and linked our Glad to Care activities with our company values; Kind, Passionate, Trusted, Respectful, and Inclusive. We have got residents involved and played games, and enjoyed fruit, pizza, and other treats.

Over the past couple of weeks, we also invited staff, residents, and visitors to write cards of gratitude to staff who have stood out to them for their kindness, dedication, and commitment. The winners of this exercise who had the most cards were:

1st place - Julie, Care Assistant

2nd place - Oi, Care Assistant

3rd place - Joanne, Activities Coordinator

Well done to all of our staff members who were recognised for their hard work and dedication. We would like to take this time to express just how much our staff means to us here at The Portebrook Care Home and we will continue to support the overall wellbeing of not only our residents but our team members too.
