Spring Has Sprung At The Porterbrook

Residents Picking Flowers

The outside area surrounding The Porterbrook Care Home have become more colourful than ever now that spring is in full swing. Many of our residents have contributed to the planting of our raised planters and flower beds at the front of our home and on one of our balconies and it's great to see them brighten up the space.

Residents are able to admire the views of the garden during the warmer months and see the beautiful planters that they helped to plant. Planting is a great activity that can be done alone or with the help of a staff member, as it enables residents to get outside and enjoy some fresh air, be engaged and feel a sense of achievement.

In our garden we also have a vegetable patch and herb garden that residents frequently visit to plant seeds and pick the ripe produce ready to be used for their meals. We are so lucky to be able to grow a lot of our own produce, and it's fantastic to see residents' contributions also.

One of our residents joined our Activity Coordinator to help pick some vibrant pink flowers to be used as table decorations in our dining room as a additional touch for mealtimes.

We look forward to seeing how our garden and outside areas grow and bloom over the upcoming summer months. To find out more about life at The Porterbook, do not hesitate to contact our friendly team who will be delighted to offer their assistance.
