Supporting our Resident & Relative Hobbies

A resident in the hair salon after getting her hair dyed at The Porterbrook Care Home

At The Porterbrook Care Home in Sheffield, our dedicated team go above and beyond to ensure our residents can keep doing the things they love, and that their routines and traditions are kept in place.

Recently, our resident Maggie had a very special mum and daughter salon day, something they have often previously enjoyed doing together. The day was made possible by Maggie's own hairdresser, who came in to use our Hair Salon & Treatment Room facilities and we were only too happy to allow this.

Maggie along with her daughter had their hair coloured and to finish the day, we arranged for them both to enjoy tea and cake. Our lovely Maggie has always enjoyed visiting the hairdresser with her daughter and having their hair coloured annd some pampering.

Their hairdresser will now continue to visit Maggie and her daughter at The Porterbrook, and they are all welcome to have full use of our salon so that they can still enjoy this special mum-and-daughter tradition together.

Maggie was left feeling relaxed and overjoyed to still share special moments with her daughter, and we look forward to enabling more of our residents in being able to share special times with their relatives.

Being in a care home doesn’t mean our residents have to miss out on those things that mean alot to them, and we are only too delighted to be able to continue supporting our residents in doing the things they love.

If you would like to find out more about how The Porterbrook Care Home can help support you and your family, then we welcome you to get in touch with our team who will be happy to help.
