Valentine’s Day at The Porterbrook

At The Porterbrook Care Home, we celebrated Valentine's Day and invited some family members in to join their loved ones for “a meal for 2” in the bar.  The conversation flowed and it was lovely to see couples and loved ones coming together for the annual day of love.  

In February we also had a fun Pajama Day. Staff and some residents dressed in their pajamas for the day.  The book group at The Porterbrook which is formed by a group of residents who love to read and write met and shared short stories, reading together while enjoying hot chocolates with marshmallows. 

While everyone was relaxing in their comfiest clothes, the day turned into a “treat day” where all the staff were given a hand massage courtesy of our own beautician. 

We had an entertainer in the afternoon and residents were singing, clapping and dancing to some songs of their past. There was a brilliant atmosphere around the home and was great to see both residents and staff having an enjoyable time.
