Here at The Porterbrook Care Home we understand the importance of living a happy, fulfilled life and the role that a wonderful dining experience plays within that. Our in-house chef and his team strive to provide home-cooked meals that are varied and create delicious menus based on personal preferences. Meals can be delivered to residents’ rooms to enjoy alone or if they prefer, in one of our dining areas alongside their fellow residents.

Food has a considerably bigger impact on our health as we become older, and we recognise that eating a nutritious meal has a significant effect on our overall health and wellbeing. That understanding ensures our team provides residents with a pleasant dining experience, in a calm atmosphere provided by the spacious and tastefully appointed dining facilities.

Spaces To Entertain, Socialise & Reflect

The Porterbrook Care Home is set across two floors, with lift access. Each floor has its own dining room and lounge, and there are plentiful communal and quiet spaces, so our residents can find an area that’s right for them at any given time – whether it’s for an intimate chat with family or a social meal with friends. Our Café Bar is a great space to catch up over a cuppa and residents can also enjoy sharing a meal with family in our restaurant or private celebration room. Our home presents an impressive selection of spaces to entertain guests, socialise with fellow residents or spend time alone.

Dining & Dementia

We pay special attention to every tiny dining detail in order to provide a quiet and enjoyable eating experience for our residents with Dementia, making sure there is plenty of space and minimal distractions. We are able to provide specialised tableware which benefits our Dementia residents as it helps them to keep their motor skills, allowing them to eat their meals as easily and independently as possible. Providing such facilities allows residents to dine how they wish, with support every step of the day.

Yes. All residents have the choice of eating their meals wherever they wish. Residents can choose to eat in a variety of places, including dining rooms, private bedrooms, lounges, private celebration rooms, or if the weather permits, outside in the patio area.
